One of the key attributes in the American policy is its continuity! During President Bush we had Condoleezza Rice as National Security Adviser and then Secretary of State, and during President Obama we have Susan …Rice as National Security Adviser! With so much rice it was only natural for Snowden to spill the …beans!

Speaking of spills, since that Putin has gone out of control in Ukraine, timing is perfect to revisit some older secessionist issues: starting from home, Texas and a few other southern states must follow their heart and move out of the union! It didn’t happen during the Civil War, but it’s long overdue and they must be allowed to do as they please before they change their mind! As for Russia, Chechnya and Daghestan could be the first to leave (if I were Russian I would want them out the sooner the better), followed by …Moscow! In the case of Greece things are much simpler: instead of regions moving out, it’s people that are abandoning the country en masse (leaving newly arrived illegal immigrants in their stead to deal with the mess)! Finally, New York City must declare its independence from …Wall Street!

While it’s great that after the Cold War we, humans, have managed to break the ice in many fronts, it’s also sad that most of the breaking and melting is taking place in the …North Pole! As a result today we had 86 degrees and tomorrow it will be 68 in New York. Is this weather or …Nasdaq?

Finally, now that the Champions League final is over and so is the Greek election, how wonderful the World Cup is coming up before boredom sets in and we all become …normal again! Greece and the US will be playing, promising doppio emotions. With no significant time difference with Brazil this time I’ll be able to watch all the matches or so I hope.
