The Greek America Foundation is hosting “Greek American Fashion Week” September 4-8, 2013 with multiple events taking place throughout New York City during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. CBS news rated Greek American Fashion Week as “top three events outside the tents” last year.

Greek American Fashion Week will open with “Greek American Fashion Week Kick-Off Event” on Wednesday, September 4th at The DL, 95 Delancey Street, New York, NY. This will be a night featuring a “Meet & Greet” the designers, pop-up shops, entertainment, complimentary passed hors d’oeuvres, pastries, and several other surprises.

The week culminates in a Runway Show featuring Spring/Summer 2014 Womenswear Collections from Greek American Fashion Designers on Friday, September 6th at Studio450, NYC 450 W 31st St, New York, NY, followed by an after party at Meli Restaurant, 1 E 35th St, New York, NY.

Guests will be dazzled by cutting-edge fashion designs by Angelo Lambrou, Nikki Poulos, Stratton Bouloukos and Tatiana Raftis Angelo on Friday, September 6th. The event will also feature cocktail hour, passed Greek hors d’oeuvres, desserts, a high-end silent auction and gift bags with items from prestigious brands such as Korres, Ivanka Trump, and Christo 5th Avenue.

All events showcase emerging and established North American fashion designers of Greek descent in an effort to help them forge relationships with those in the fashion industry, assisting them with advancement of their careers.

In addition, renowned menswear designer John Varvatos will be honored with an award for his exceptional contribution to the fashion industry.

A special pop-up shop weekend event featuring the collections of the presenting designers will take place on Saturday, September 7th and Sunday, September 8th at The Market NYC 159 Bleecker Street, New York, NY.

A host of supporters and friends will be on hand for the weekend events, including several prominent members from the fashion and retail industry as well as celebrity fashion bloggers.

Proceeds from this program will benefit the programs of the Greek America Foundation, with a particular focus on the creation of a scholarship for a student pursuing fashion design. The Greek America Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting, preserving and perpetuating the Greek culture, history and heritage in North America.
