Petrocheilos’ ‘Friendraiser’ at Melissaratos’ Greenmount Farm

On Friday, September 5th, George Petrocheilos, a Towne Park business development executive, hosted his 3rd ‘’Friendraiser’’ at the Greenmount Farm in Glyndon, MD – home of Aris Melissaratos, the former Secretary of Business & Economic Development, who now serves as Dean of the Brown School of Business at Stevenson University.
The ‘’Friendraiser’’ is a private reception that brings together a collection of civic and industry leaders around the state of Maryland, who are also asked to consider contributing to local charities, selected by the organizers. This year’s event benefited the BaltimoreSchool for the Arts, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Duke of Edinburgh Awards and the Living Classrooms Foundation.
Several business leaders & elected officials were in attendance, including U.S. Congressman Elijah Cummings, U.S. Congressman John P. Sarbanes, Senate President Mike Miller, Secretary of Transportation Jim T. Smith, Wally Pinkard, Chairman of Cassidy Turley, Tim Regan, CEO of Whiting Turner, Calvin Butler, CEO of Baltimore Gas & Electric, David Warnock, Senior Partner of Camden Partners, Larry Jennings, Managing Director of Valstone Partners, Dave Oros, former founder & CEO of Aether Systems, Jerry South, Founder & CEO of Towne Park, Mark Collins, Partner of Brown Advisory, Todd Ruppert, former CEO of T. Rowe Price Global Investment Services, Marjorie Rodgers Cheshire, President & COO of the A&R Companies, Nancy Grasmick, former Superintendent of Schools, Jeffrey Legum, CEO of the Park Circle Company & the Legum Foundation, Ken Banks, President of Banks Contracting, Kaliope Parthemos, Chief of Staff to Mayor Rawlings-Blake, Bill Cole, President of the Baltimore Development Corporation, State Senator Bill Ferguson, Delegate Talmadge Branch, Delegate Jon Cardin, Councilwoman Rikki Spector and many others.
The Baltimore School for the Arts band performed during the evening. Catering was provided by Carlton & Co. The Korologos family-owned Double T Diners and Yia Yia’s Bakery provided Greek-style barbeque outside and desserts.
