A RARE View of Young Professionals!
The Hellenic American Chamber of Commerce (HACC) Young Professionals had recently their monthly happy hour networking event at RARE View Rooftop lounge on NYC’s east side. This networking event geared towards young Greek-American professionals was a huge success with lots of “kefi” and over 100 attendees. The Young Professionals is a committee within HACC and only a little over a year old.
HACC was formed over 50 years ago for the purpose of promoting and strengthening the economic and cultural ties between the US and Greece. The group is composed of respected and well known doctors, lawyers, shipping industry officials, accountants and TV producers. Although HACC has members from all different career backgrounds, it had very small percentage of young professionals. Taso Pardalis, an attorney and member of HACC, noticed there was a need for a committee to represent and cater to the needs of young Hellenes like himself. Therefore, he started and became president of the young professionals group with the help of HACC last year and it has already tripled in size.
In addition to monthly happy hour networking events, the group also hosts various educational business and cultural events. Last March, supermarket mogul and billionaire John Catsimatidis was their keynote speaker and gave an inspirational speech on “The American Dream: Growing Your Business on the Streets of New York.” This event received an immense amount of positive feedback from many Greek-Americans and inspired many to follow in the path of Catsimatidis and create their own “American Dream.”
The young professionals have planned their next event to occur at the trendy rooftop garden at 230 Fifth in NYC. For information on this event and on becoming a member of the HACC Young Professionals, contact Taso Pardalis at mplawfirm@gmail.com.
