“A Cuckoo Family” by Ethos Productions


“A Cuckoo Family,” a modern Greek play adapted and directed by Larisa Antypa will be the opening performance of the newly established ETHOS MANAGEMENT Inc (ETHOS PRODUCTIONS), a based in New York City organization with a board of professionals in the arts and management.

The story takes place in 60's Athens. Andreas and Mika meet during the Carnival in Venice, they fell in love and get married that same day. With their return to Mika's house in Athens, Andreas finds out his wife is not only very spoiled but also engaged to someone else. Their home is a place with no rules, where everybody does whatever they like. Andreas will attempt to win Mika's heart and put some order in this Cuckoo Family.

The performances begin Friday November 27th, 2009 and will run until Sunday January 17th, 2010.

Ethos Productions’ mission is to Manage and promote actors, singers, vocalists, musicians, music producers, bands and all persons engaged in the field of entertainment through its various activities (theatre productions, musical concerts, movies, TV, readings and charitable functions). They are also planning to promote, organize and conduct events, parties and all other types of gatherings for corporations, organizations, associations, traditional Greek membership organizations and individuals, introducing both Greek and Greek-American performers. Ethos’ scope includes providing the Greek speaking community with various artistic productions and meaningful presentations, which will promote our ethnic and cultural identity and preserve our language and culture through artistic endeavor. Finally, they will try to exchange ideas and cultures with other ethnic groups, to understand and appreciate our culture in the United States of America.

In order to achieve these goals, Ethos has undertaken and organized projects, beginning immediately and lasting until December 2010. These projects include theatrical productions, musical events, charitable fundraising events and musical concerts with both young and well-known Greek actors, musical performers and composers.
